Help Out Public Education in Florida.

A non-partisan political committee, fundraising for public education and the future of Florida.

Our Mission

Help Out Public Education (HOPE) is a non-partisan political committee formed in October of 2022 in response to conversations with candidates and observations of the current political landscape. HOPE is primarily focused on raising funds to support campaign incubation, voter education, and voter contact for pro-public education school board candidates and campaigns in Florida.

Our Vision

Public schools should be pillars in our communities that help families thrive and where children learn the knowledge and skills necessary to become engaged members of our society and economy. Our communities deserve school board members who put students’ futures before culture war political games.

Why School Board Races?

Public education today is our economy tomorrow, and school board members play a critical role in protecting our investment in public schools and our children. Elected school board members make important decisions that affect our children and our communities such as how financial resources are spent, which curriculum and textbooks are used, which programs are offered, and which legislative initiatives are pursued at the state level.  During the 2022 election cycle, excellent school board candidates were defeated across the state due, in large part, to well-funded extremist groups that spent millions of dollars in an effort to gain greater control of school boards – and our children’s lives – throughout Florida. When extreme politicians win, schools and students lose.

Raising the voices of everyday parents and community members

The parents behind HOPE have been on the ground across the state listening to, commiserating with, and learning from pro-public education school board members, candidates, students, parents, and supporters. From those conversations, we’ve developed a plan to help public education champions compete as school board candidates in today’s political climate. HOPE was formed to be aggressive in identifying and incubating pro-public education campaigns, raising awareness about the timing and importance of school board elections, and focusing on No Party Affiliation (NPA) and small county voters.
